US Players on Cake Poker Moved to Juicy Stakes Poker
US online poker players registered at four online poker sites on the Revolution Poker Network have been moved to Juicy Stakes Poker, accessible at JuicyStakes.eu. Owing to this latest development, US online poker players on Cake Poker, Fugu Poker, Colt Poker, and Hi-Life Poker are no longer able to access their accounts on these sites. They can access their accounts only after they first download and install the Juicy Stakes Poker software on their computers and login with their old Cake Poker information.
Players registered at Juicy Stakes Poker were informed about this move through an email regarding a $100k online poker tournament series on the Revolution Gaming Network. The email stated that Juicy Stakes Poker will change its URL from http://www.juicystakes.com to http://www.juicystakes.eu, after which it will welcome a huge base of players from the Revolution Gaming Network, which previously purchased the Cake Poker Network in early summer 2012.
US players at Cake Poker found themselves being directed to Juicy Stakes Poker as soon as they tried to log in to their Cake Poker account early this week. Any US poker player who visits Cake Poker now will see a message, which clearly states that Cake Poker is no longer offering online poker services to US players. The message also urges US poker players who are hungry for casino games, poker games, lucrative tournaments, and rewards for loyalty to head over to www.JuicyStakes.eu.
The message also gives specific instructions for existing Cake Poker players residing in the US. While confirming that Cake Poker can no longer serve them, the remainder of the message also assures them they have nothing to fear because their casino and poker accounts, along with their rewards for loyalty details, have been securely transferred to Juicy Stakes Poker.
The shifting of the US poker player base from four Cake Poker Network skins to JuicyStakes.eu did not come as much of a surprise. Reports of the move had first appeared at online poker forums and were then confirmed by a reliable source within Cake Poker. The reliable source had stated that Cake was making plans to shift its US poker player base to Juicy Stakes Poker and will be making a formal announcement regarding the move soon. Meanwhile, Juicy Stakes Poker was given a quick face lift to receive the new base of poker players.
Cake Poker has not given any explanation for its latest decision. Quite obviously, Revolution Gaming Network wanted to separate existing US online poker players from its best skins. It may be recalled that Bodog.eu did something similar last year—it had shifted its entire base of online poker players to a brand new skin called Bovada.lv.
Cake Poker might have also taken into consideration the confused state of legal online poker in the US when it decided to shift its US poker players to Juicy Stakes Poker. Even Intertops Poker, a skin on the Revolution Gaming Network, had recently announced that it will not accept any new registrations from the US.
Right now, US poker players can sign up for real money play at poker sites on the Merge Network, Americas Cardroom and Bovada Poker.
