All in 4 Spot Tournament seeks to support dog rescue group in Las Vegas

The poker community is once again coming together for a good cause. In this case it’s the All In 4 Spot Charity Poker Tournament to be held at Milo’s 2-Wheels on March 17 in Boulder City.

The charity putting this together is A Home 4 Spot, a Las Vegas based dog rescue nonprofit. The foundation helps place dogs in homes in the Las Vegas area in order to avoid them being put down. The charity is volunteer-based and provides medical treatment and temporary foster care.

The game will be no-limit hold’em at 12 tables for a total of 120 players. With a buy in of $120 participants are gifted a commemorative poker chip, hat and shirt. Play starts at 6pm with the possibility of rebuys for $100. There will also be rounder spots in case someone chooses to end their night early. Final table players will receive cash and additional prizes. With all of this there is no doubt the evening will be filled with entertainment and of course an adoptions corner for possible new owners. “We’re trying to make a big splash and do something that hasn’t been done,” local resident and A Home 4 Spot volunteer Tara Bertoli told the Boulder City Review.

Even though this particular tournament is new the idea of the poker community coming together to help animals is not. A clear example of this is Jennifer Harman, who has championed the cause of the Nevada SPCA and has been key for the major renovation that is taking place. “Jennifer Harman is a hero for animals without equal,” said Nevada SPCA Executive Director Doug Duke. “She unites the world’s best poker pros with amateurs, animal lovers, Vegas celebrities, and sports stars to support vital, lifesaving rescue work for fragile dogs, cats, rabbits, pocket pets, birds, and other animals escaping peril.”

The Jennifer Harman Celebrity Poker Tournament is going into its 11th year with several well-known pros set to attend. A quick list already includes magician Lance Burton, WSOP commentator Norman Chad, hit series Pawn Stars character Chumlee and Bobby Black of the Las Vegas Tenors.
