Barona Resort & Casino celebrates military veterans

In honor of military servicemembers, retirees and their families, the Barona Resort & Casino in San Diego is holding a week-long celebration that kicks off Nov. 17, corresponding with Veterans Day. The casino will offer Hot Seat promotions and a chance at winning $500 every half hour from 10 am to 10 pm. It will also be giving away free baseball caps and pins all week.

In a press release, Barona’s general manager Rick Salinas announced, “Barona is celebrating our veterans and men and women in the military with cash, prizes, and fun all week long. We appreciate all they have done and all they do to protect and serve America.” Active and retired personnel who are part of Club Barona will receive Free Play as well as the cap and pin when they present their military ID or valid DD-214 at the casino. $40 in Free Play will be given to Diamond members, $30 to Platinum members, $20 to Gold members and $10 to Classic members.

Many San Diego-area restaurants, as well as Barona, have teamed up to support the military during the San Diego Restaurant Association’s “Salute To Service fundraiser taking place from Nov. 10-12. The fundraiser will provide funds for the Warrior Foundation-Freedom Station, a 501(c)3 organization that assists and supports military men and women. It provides quality-of-life items, support services and transitional housing for injured servicemembers.
