The Card Player Poker Tour is knee-deep in the first stop of the season at Live! Casino and Hotel in Maryland. The most significant event of the stop begins today with the first starting flight of the $200,000 guaranteed Main Event.
The $1,100 buy-in tournament also offers a second starting flight on Saturday, January 13. The Main Event concludes on Sunday, with a CPPT trophy for the winner.
After the Main Event, there are still two events in the schedule. The first is a $500 buy-in no-limit hold’em Double Black Chip Bounty event. The final tournament of the series is a $240 buy-in no-limit hold’em Turbo event. The two final events take place on January 14.
The first CPPT tour stop of the year kicked off with a $100,000 guaranteed event with a $360 buy-in. The tournament was a success, busting through its guarantee to build a total prize pool over $166,000.
The tournaments continue at Live! Casino throughout January. The day after the CPPT events concludes the casino is offering a Martin Luther King Day tournament with a $400 buy-in and a $25,000 guarantee. Nearing the end of the month, Live will host a $50,000 guaranteed Bounty event with a $500 buy-in on January 27.
After leaving Maryland, the CPPT is headed to the Golden Gates Casino in Colorado on January 19, then to Oceans 11 on January 25. The Oceans 11 stop includes a Quantum Reload opener, in which players can buy directly into the final day of the tournament for $1,500, or begin with the starting flight for $250.
