Foxwoods Mega Stack Challenge Offers $1M in Guarantees

Foxwoods Casino in Connecticut is kicking off a one last major poker tournament of the year today. The Mega Stack Challenge runs December 1-11 and includes 12 events. The series offers a total of $1 million in guarantees including a $500,000 guaranteed opening event.

The opening event is a $600 buy-in no-limit hold’em event with a series of four starting flights. The action begins Friday, with a starting flight every day through Monday. Not only does the tournament have a big guarantee but it also has a big payout structure – all players that make it through their starting flight make it in the money.

Players can get into the opening event for an even lower buy-in by qualifying through one of the $120 mega super satellites. Satellite events will run throughout the series offering entrance to two additional tournaments with six-figure payouts. The first is a $100,000 guaranteed event with two starting flights and the $250,000 guaranteed Championship event.

The $100,000 guaranteed event begins December 7. It includes re-entry and has a $400 buy-in. The Championship, which kicks off December 9, also includes re-entry and has a buy-in of $1,550.

Between the big events are several smaller tournaments, but no small guarantees. A total of six $25,000 guaranteed prize pools spot the schedule, five with a $300 buy-in and one Super Stack Turbo with a $250 buy-in. Among the $300 tournaments, there is a seniors event, a turbo bounty event, and a ladies-only event. Foxwoods is also running various poker promotions through the end of the month.
