Jason Koon’s poker career is booming. Ranked 57th on poker’s All Time Money List, Koon boasts more than $10 million in live winnings, $3.5 million of which were added just this year. To top it off, Partypoker picked up Koon this week and added him to their Player’s Advisory Council.
Koon joins fellow top-earning poker pro Fedor Holz, who signed with Partypoker last month. Holz, Germany’s all-time money winner, is only slightly behind Koonz in live poker winnings this year with $3.03 million. It is a light year after the 24-year-old poker wiz banked $16.48 million in 2017.
Koon and Holz join a roster of Partypoker pros that includes Sam Trickett, Dzmitry Urbanovich, Anatoly Filatov, Patrick Leonard, Jao Simao and Jonny Lodden. The addition of these high profile poker players and other celebrities such as Boris Becker is part of Partypoker’s latest push to dethrone PokerStars.
A few of the above-mentioned players were also pulled for the newly-created Player’s Advisory Council. According to Partypoker, the council represents the interests of players within the company. They are tasked with providing feedback that will direct Partypoker in the effort to keep players “best interests at heart.”
Koon makes his first appearance representing Party Poker on November 9 at the Caribbean Poker Party Festival. The festival runs through November 25 and Koon can be expected to do a lot more than brand boasting – he is sure to hit the felt for a piece of the $10 million in prize money up for grabs.
