Safe Kids Springfield (SKS) in Springfield, MO will hold its annual poker run tomorrow. The event, ‘Cruisin’ for Kids,’ raises funds for the Cribs for Kids Project, which donates cribs to needy families in the area.

The event kicks off at 10 AM at Pitbull Powersports in Springfield. Participants are expected to complete the 100-mile scenic run by 3 PM, finishing at The Rock, Pitbull Powersports in Bolivar. Prizes will be given for the best and worst hands. Following the ride, there will be luncheon with an after-party featuring music, raffles and other giveaways and a live auction.

The entry fee is $25 per biker and $10 for each passenger. Participants can register Saturday morning at the starting point, or online at

Clark Parmley, who has participated in the poker run since its inception five years ago, said, “It’s miles and miles of beautiful Ozarks to help kids have a safe place to sleep. This year we have a whole new route with a new beginning and new ending. It should prove to be a very interesting ride and be a lot of fun for a good cause.”

SKS, founded in 1989, is a member of Safe Kids Worldwide (SKW), an organization that works to prevent unintentional injury worldwide. SKW has over 400 coalitions and chapters across 26 countries.
