Phil Galfond let the poker world know in September of 2016 – a full 16 months ago – that he was planning on launching a real money online poker site through his RunItOnce poker training portal. After that, not much else was heard on the subject, except for an occasional “we’re working on it.” However, Galfond is now back to promoting the site, which “should open sometime in 2018.”
Galfond recently sent an email to customers of the Run It Once site, offering them a year-long membership discount in training, and also including $100 to his Run It Once Poker site, despite the fact that the site is still not up and running. The fine print of the email included the caveat, “Free $100 at DraftBoard.com or Run It Once Poker,” and the website points out that the platform will, or should, launch at some point in 2018. The site also points out that the $100 will be deposited into the player’s account “as soon as we are up and running.” Of course, 2018 is not a very exact date, and no one knows when it will actually be ready to go.
When he made the initial announcement in ’16, the two-time WSOP bracelet winner indicated that he would be rolling the site out in the first quarter of 2017. After the quarter blew by with no new site, Galfond admitted that the project was taking longer than expected. He, again, announced another delay in September of last year. Maybe 2018 will finally see the site make its debut, possibly, perhaps.
