Spring Poker Tournaments Kick off This Week in Atlantic City and North Carolina

Spring is in the air and in the poker community that means live tournament action. Two major east coast poker tournament series kick off this week, one in Atlantic City and another in North Carolina. Millions of dollars in guaranteed prize pools are up for grabs in both locations.

Borgata Spring Poker Open
Atlantic City’s Borgata Casino hosts three annual Poker Open events; the Spring, Fall, and Winter Poker Open. Each a massive tournament series that boasts six-figure payouts to top players, the Borgata Poker Opens have become the seasonal pillars of the east coast poker market.

The 2018 Borgata Winter Poker Open just wrapped up on February 2. Eric Afriat won the Main Event for $651,928. Now Borgata is setting up for the start of the Spring Poker Open, which kicks off on April 10 and runs through April 27. The $2,700 buy-in Main Event runs for five days and has a $1 million guarantee.

WSOP Circuit Harrah’s Cherokee
The World Series of Poker Circuit is on its way to Harrah’s Cherokee Casino in North Carolina before wrapping up the 2017-18 season. The stop includes 12 gold ring events, beginning on April 12. The $1,675 buy-in Main Event begins April 20 and offers a $1 million guaranteed prize pool.

The WSOP Circuit will return to Harrah’s Cherokee later this Summer to close out the season with the Global Casino Championship. The event runs for three days, August 7-9, and offers a rare gold bracelet outside Las Vegas. WSOP Circuit event winners will compete for a piece of the $1 million prize pool.
