Turning Stone Casino in New York Celebrates 25th Anniversary with Poker

Turning Stone Casino in Verona, New York is celebrating its 25th anniversary with live poker next month. The highlight of the celebrations will be a 25 for 25 event – a poker tournament with a $25,000 guarantee that players can buy into for just $25.

25 for 25 will be an event of epic proportions with no less than 23 starting flights, the first of which kicks off July 6. Each day through July 14 the casino will host two starting flights into the tournament, three on weekend days.

Is it possible the tournament could surpass its guarantee with such a low buy-in? Turningstone needs to attract an overall average of 44 players to each starting flight to exceed the $25,000 mark.

Each starting flight is expected to last roughly four hours. Players begin with 10,000 chips and all starting days run on 15-minute levels. On Day 2 of the tournament, the levels will increase to 20 minutes and then 30 minutes before the end of the day.

Aside from the 25 for 25 tournaments, poker players can pick up cash games and will have the chance to win hourly high-hand prizes between 1:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. The highest dollar high-hand rewards are reserved for Sunday when the payout will reach $1,000.

Turning Stone is also kicking off its summer fun activities outdoors. The casino offers golf, racquet sports, and an outdoor pool. In the evenings, the casino has a summer schedule filled with entertainment and live music at its nightclubs.
