Western New York Poker Challenge Kicks Off With $100K GTD March 31

Once again, Seneca Niagara Falls will host the Western New York Poker Challenge. It all kicks off March 31 with a $300 buy-in $100,000 guaranteed Hold’em tournament. The highlight of the WNYPC will be a $200,000 guaranteed tournament on April 7-to-9.

The first event of the series will offer four starting flights spread over March 31 and April 1. Players will be allowed to enter into more than one flight, moving on to day 2 on April 2 with only their largest stack. Following the opener there will be a variety of No-Limit Hold’em events.

The Main Event also offers an extra starting flight, though the only way to enter twice is to bust out before entry is closed. The buy-in for the three-day Main Event is $1,000. The buy-ins for other events in the series are as low as $100 (a $5,000 guaranteed NLH event).

Special events, such as a $200 Ladies Championship and a $300 Pot Limit Omaha are also included between the opener and main event.

The Seneca Gaming and Entertainment Poker Room in Niagara Falls offers 23 poker tables, free drinks, and free parking. Outside of the WNYPC series schedule the room offers half-rake limit games on Tuesdays and Thursdays. It also boasts 13 big screen televisions.

Buck Ramsey, the WNYPC Main Event winner in 2015, won the last month’s warm-up event. Ramsay actually took less money than second place finisher Joe Elhage, as the players struck a deal that gave Elhage $19,000, but awarded Ramsay the title and $18,302..
