WSOP back in Tulsa with $1 million tourney

One of the world’s most popular tournament organizers is coming back to Tulsa, OK. As part of its international tour, the WSOP will hold a series of tournaments at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino March 15 – 26. In addition to some of the same games seen in the past, a $1 million-guarantee No Limit Hold’em Championship has been added to the mix.

There will be a total of 46 events spread out over the 12 days of the series. For the opening weekend, a $250,000 No Limit Re-entry tournament will be held, featuring four flights over two days. There are 12 official WSOP Circuit Ring events, a ladies’ event and a Seniors’ No Limit Hold’em tournament. Buy-ins for the tournaments range anywhere from $135 to $2,200, and satellites are available from $65 to $275.

After beginning the circuit in August at Harrah’s Casino in North Carolina, the WSOP series has been making its way through the country. This will be the second time that the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tulsa opens its doors to the WSOP. The casino is the 21st stop on the tour, and is one of three Oklahoma casinos to host the WSOP circuit series. The same event last year attracted over 7,500 players from 37 states and three countries, ultimately paying out over $2.5 million in cash.
